Abirame is qualified to practice in Australia and Singapore.

Having graduated from Monash University (Victoria) and after obtaining a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice at the Australian National University (Australian Capital Territory), Abirame joined the Morwell regional office of Victoria Legal Aid (VLA) as a criminal solicitor-advocate from 2009 to 2010. She went on to private practice at Simon Parsons & Co (Victoria) as solicitor-in-charge of the firm’s criminal law practice.

Abirame took a break from legal practice to pursue her passion in teaching before being admitted to the Supreme Court of Singapore in 2021.

Abirame has extensive expertise as a solicitor-advocate in criminal law. She has represented clients and instructed counsel in Australia in a wide range of criminal matters ranging from drink-driving offences to serious offences including sexual assault and serious assaults. During her practice at Victoria Legal Aid, she also gained extensive experience in representing clients with mental health and intellectual disability issues as well as young clients.

Since returning to practice in 2022, Abirame has practised predominantly in the areas of civil and commercial litigation, representing clients in a variety of matters including tortious claims, contractual disputes and insolvency matters.

Abirame is passionate about social justice and advocacy and strives to leave no stone unturned in the pursuit of a favourable outcome for the clients she represents.
